Urban Moments in Japan

Candid moments in public spaces across Japan.

Japan is where photography found me and where I first fell in love with street photography. As a result, it will always hold a special place in my heart;
and these photos are a constant reminder to me of that magical feeling of hitting the streets with pure child-like wonder.

I shoot based on gut instinct. For example, something that catches my eye — a colour, a coincidence,
two at first glance opposite/different things placed by chance that somehow fits together. Many times, I press the shutter before I fully understand why.

I look beyond the simple visual coincidence and aim to find that deeper meaning.

To me, street photography is like 一期一会 — (Ichigo Ichie): those singular, fleeting moments which may never come again.
