A Modern Day Affair
A conceptual photo series tracing emotional distance (2023–ongoing)
Forthcoming: exhibited in In Our Own Frame, Singapore Art Week 2026, Guoco Midtown, Singapore. Presented by DECK Photography Art Centre Ltd. Exhibiting A Modern Day Affair.
A Modern Day Affair is about how a phone can come between two people who live together.
The series comes from my own feelings of being unseen, unheard, and slowly pushed aside by a screen.
I stage scenes at home to show this mix of love, distance, and the small hurts that grow over time.
Movie night, but his eyes stay on his phone.
Glued to his phone as I bathe him like a baby.
Anger on a lifeless object—still meaningless.
A cracked screen protector on a cake—not celebration.
Lost in the fog—not looking at each other.
